32 years after flying the most dangerous mission in avionic history, Maverick is now a pen pusher having been retired for being too fucking old to fly fighter jets anymore.
Join him as he returns to the sky in a twin prop civilian sightseeing aircraft to feel the need for speed once more!
P.S. Goose is in this one because Hollywood retcon reasons. It was all a dream. Yeah.....

Alternatively, do the serious version of Hot Shots Part Deux. 25 years too late.

Sometimes I wonder if I'm too cynical :D

I’m all in for Top Gun 2, even though it will probably (definitely) be terrible. Presumably most of it will be the battle between Maverick and the F-35’s user interface, and then the film ends with him having to use his old F-14 tomcat and ripping all the modern fancypants planes to shreds by hitting the brakes and letting them fly by. Calling it now.

Biggest question though: How are they going to recreate the homoerotic volleyball scene?

I still can't envision a Top Gun without the involvement of the late great Tony Scott. The guy was a tour de force when it came to making film and his influence is still being felt today in modern cinema.

Having watched Top Gun again only recently it really does let you know just how ahead of its time it actually was throughout with the perfect fusion of action, music, on point direction and to a lesser degree characterization. We weren't just observing Maverick we were in his head from start to finish and when he felt the need for speed we were right there with him.

Popping by with some very daft looking cyberpunk action that's out soon.

Probably shown all the best bits in the trailer, but that still looks like an ultra violent laugh.
