War Machine.

Interesting movie with Brad Pitt playing the US general put in charge of the mission in Afghanistan. It's broadly based on the real life General McChrystal who famously poo pooed Obama in mainstream media. He was quite the character and Pitt does a brilliant job of indirectly portraying him and the issues he came up against with the mission. Ben Kingsley plays afghan president Hamed Kharzi and again this is apparently a very accurate portrayal of the real life man.

Well worth a watch often funny but clearly good for anyone who wants an insight into the mission there.

On Netflix right now.

Let's get Blomkamp working on a sci-fi Horror movie, yeah? I think that'd be for the best.

After they revealed Cable. I'm so hyped to see Deadpool 2. But I'll stick with Justice League and Thor Ragnarok for now.

So glad to see the new IT adaption is doing so well having made $75 million on a $35 million budget in a single day. It could well go on to be the highest grossing R rated movie ever made.

Can't wait to see it myself in the coming week.

JJ Abrams to direct Star Wars: Episode IX
JJ Abrams, who launched the new era of Star Wars films with The Force Awakens in 2015, is returning to the series as director and co-writer of Star Wars: Episode IX.

"With The Force Awakens, JJ delivered everything we could have possibly hoped for," Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy said.

"I am so excited that he is coming back to close out this trilogy."

Abrams is replacing Colin Trevorrow, who dropped out of the film last month.

Trevorrow, who directed Jurassic World, left the director's chair because he and Lucasfilm had differing "visions", the company said.

Episode IX is expected to star Daisy Ridley and John Boyega and is due out in May 2019.

Rian Johnson is directing the second in the current trilogy, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which will be released this December. He was also rumoured to be in the running to direct Episode IX after Trevorrow left the project.

When you scrap the final outing to what should have been an otherwise fantastic Hellboy original trilogy then recast Ron Perlman for David Harbour as Hellboy only to make his said replacement look just like Ron Perlman as Hellboy.

Spoiler: show
Image

He may have the look but Ron was so much more than just looks. His voice plus his on screen charisma and perfect comedy timing added a lot to the character. Who the hell doesn't recognise Ron Perlman's voice in any movie ever? He's voiced many CGI movies and even if I didn't know he was in it I'd go yep - that's Ron Perlman. How Hellboy looks is one thing, who he is underneath all that makeup is another thing entirely.
