Screen Captures

Postby Subway Diet » Thu Jan 28, 2016 5:27 pm

I'm bored.

After sussing out how to get screen captures from Blu Ray, figured I'd take a few and show 'em off. Not sure if there's a way to have the forum show images full sized without saying "open in new tab". Still, these are all full resolution, uncompressed 1920x1080 shots. I doubt anyone is sill on dial-up here, but these damn things come in between 2 and 5 megs.

That said, for all my talk of quality, these aren't quite super duper, reference disks. If I really wanted to impress people, I'd buy the 4k digital nature videos.

Bit of a theme for the first bunch. Can you guess the movies? :o

Cheat sheet:
Spoiler: show
Strange Days
The Hurt Locker
World War Z
Fury
Spider-Man 2

The connection being that they're the last five films I wrote about in the Just watched thread. Or will write about, in the case of the first capture. :P

Feel free to post any movie screen caps that take your fancy. I'll be posting more because I've got the free time to waste. :-k

(we'll see how long it takes before this image host throws a wobbly)

1: Strange Days, one of my all time favourite films.
2: Jeremy Renner. Unsure of the movie. 28 Weeks Later (no wai he wasn't dressed in civ clothes)
3: World War Z.
4: Has to be Fury. The scene in question involves a knife.
5: Hmm. Not sure. I'll come back to that one.

Three out of four. :)
Had to import a copy of Strange Days from Germany. No idea why it, along with a bunch of other Lightstorm Entertainment movies, hasn't been made available on Blu Ray.

Forgot to include one:

And that's it for the first batch.

So, a lot of men standing in places, then?

We talked about it a bit in the Just Watched and Blu Ray thread.
Aside from Stug really not liking it, everyone else appeared to agree it was good, but with a really dumb ending. I'd say it was a very much a modern, post-Saving Private Ryan style WW2 movie, only with the heroic nature of that film replaced with the very dark shades of grey.

And here's another shot!
Nothing fancy, just Mark Wahlberg, John C. Reilly and Thomas Jane on a couch. One of the more amazing scenes from one of my favourite movies. :)

I swear, the colour in these pictures is off. They're looking "crushed" and "burnt" compared to the original image. Will investigate. :-k

Jeez 300 is the only one I can pick there. Think the top one might have been some vampire movie that I can barely remember at all let alone the name.

That looks like Jon Snow in the top one, so Pompeii?

Second is Immortals (probably shite film but I remember enjoying it).

Last one is the 300 sequel I'm guessing.

Yeah, that's 300: Rise of an Empire and Fit Kit Harington in Pompeii. ;)

I really like Immortals, despite the internet and critics loudly telling me that I shouldn't.

Speaking of which!

Don't know the first. Could be that recent jupiter rising thing that seemed good but was seen as shite. But the rest I think are Event horizon, chappie and alien resurrection.

I mean, Jupiter (the planet, not the title character) is right in the shot.
Yeah, you got them all. This was a softball round. ;)

Bonus!
Found a stash of old DVD shots from a past movie game. Figured I'd re-take one in with a Blu Ray version.

I mean, the film itself was kind of blurry and low budget anyway.

Edit: And another. The softest damn shot in the whole film, too. #-o
