Kill it. Burn it. Scatter the ashes.
It is an abomination. [-X

First I've heard of it being a reboot. Read an interview recently that Dan Aykroyd's still gonna be in it to pass the torch.

But this gets a "pfffft, whatever" from me as it'll never get made.

A reboot of Ghostbusters? Stupid idea.
A reboot of Ghostbusters with female lead characters? Glorious!

It's one thing to complain about a pointless remake. It's another thing to complain about a pointless remake while having weird hang-ups about women.

Truthfully, outside of wanting it made to rile up a certain type of weird little basment troll, it could actually be a fun idea.
Then again, I'm picturing it as film from the 80s with the same sort of dry humour and classy slapstick. I fear the actual reality might be that of a typical modern in-your-face, crass American "comedy". :?

Agree all round Sub. It lives or dies in the casting though, probably moreso than the writing.

If this ends up as a genuinely funny film that is remotely worthy of bearing the Ghostbusters name, I will buy a hat and eat it. Not a small hat either - a sombrero or similar. And I'll sing the Ghostbusters theme while doing it.

That's my backup plan in case it all goes horribly well.

Terrible idea. The women thing is fine, whatever, although I can't think of four comedic actresses to fill the roles. It's more a bad idea because Ghostbusters is pretty much perfect.

Cast confirmed.

With the inclusion of some of those actresses I feel the film will undoubtedly take a turn towards a more bawdy style of comedy.

So... it's Bridesmaids with proton packs?

This does not reassure me.
