It was ok I thought, shame it had so many oddities about it. A lot of strange things went on that never got explained or were glossed over for no apparent reason other than lazy writing.

I'd watch a sequel for sure having said that above because there were some great things in there at same time.

One thing that really bugged me about it is all the heavy handed religious mumbo jumbo included in the plot and the emphasis on discovering the origins of humanity on Earth. Alien was just a bunch of dudes in a mining ship who stumble across something terrifying; Prometheus was a bunch of irritating characters who didn't stop spouting bollocks about meeting our makers and answering the questions to the meaning of life. Just stop with all that crap and tell a good story.

Scott really didn't know if he was making a heavy, metaphoric thought piece, or a 'splody action flick.

Unfortunately, he fell into the void between the two and the film (in it's current state) simply doesn't work without pages of exposition.

The kicker is that Scott is very capable of making film that's 100% in either category and I would defo go see it.

I can look past the storyline and the fact that it raised as many questions as it answered, and that the ending was anything but and the general enigmaticness of it all, but the characters were just so fucking stupid it annoyed me intensely. From a cheap slasher flick I can understand, but did nobody read the script at all? Seriously, you could have written out the idiocy over a few pints.

Ridley Scott nowadays seems to make films that you would have expected his brother to make in that they are ok and mostly watchable, but no longer anything special.

Ridley Scott is presently in the habit of making motion pictures in the same vein as his sibling used to in that they are acceptable but no longer remarkable.

Ridley Scott has kind of gone down on his brother at the cinema and it was fine but nothing remarkable purple monkey dishwasher.

Necrophilia? It's a little frowned on.
