I watched it last night and didn't mind it at all. Chris Evans was his usual chippy self and by the end of the program I was getting used to Matt Le Blanc's deadpan delivery.

What I thought REALLY let the show down was the challenges. Drive a banger to Blackpool? See which WW2 jeep is the bestest? Really? C'mon guys, try harder.

Happy to give this a few weeks to find their feet though.

Second episode wasn't bad, enjoyed the challenge more than the previous week.

Were the challenges better? I got about 2/3 through the first ep before giving up out of boredom.

Also what the hell is the new guest segment?
IMO :P  :P  :P

Not sure if this came out in the media as well, but my dad apparently knows a guy who knows a guy who was at the filming for the first episode. He said it was just a painful experience.

Apparently no-one in the audience laughed at any of Evans' or LeBlanc's jokes... literally, nobody. They spent four hours filming and re-filming the studio segments, with Evans becoming increasingly manic in an attempt to cajole a reaction from people, before they gave up and inserted a laughter track in the appropriate places. He said the guy was surprised when he saw the broadcast version, as he said it was deathly silence the whole time, and you can still see on people's faces how unmoved they are despite the 'laughter'.
My face is tired.

Need to get the audience plastered.

It really was time for the whole show to get a shake up rather than trying to emulate the exact format that worked for Clarkson and co.

I've always fast forwarded the guest segments so not bothered to watch these new ones. I'm hopefully that Grand Tour doesn't have to have the pointless interviews.

Viewers for the second episode dropped to 2.8 million with many still complaining about "Shouty Chris" and are now demanding he be replaced with Jenson Button.

Clarkson said: “We'll be travelling the world hosting each episode in a different country, from a giant tent. It's a sort of "grand tour", if you like.

So I'm guessing not? Though there is a studio element so... Who knows!

Jensen Button is quite good, he goes all squeaky when he gets excited

If this backlash continues I can't see Chris Evans surviving past this series.

Seems harsh, they could probably just replace him.

I've not seen the new show. But Evans is so easy to dislike, I can see why people aren't reacting well to him.

Do you mean it seems harsh to can him after one series?

Well I've watched Episodes 1 and 2 now and honestly, it isn't as bad as people say. The most cringe worthy moment came when Jordan delivered his "AND ON THAT BOMBSHELL!" moment which was just horrific car crash TV. Evans just needs to bloody relax and stop trying to deliver constant funnies while trying to command the audiences attention with his over the top Clarkson wannabe voice. Sure there's awkward moments but this is a crew that are still trying to gel together and it's still very early days, far too early to warrant Chris be sacked - ffs people.

Just less of the Chris being wheeled in on a hospital bed. That shit is just moronic.

I liked the challenges too and Jordan's off road button fail was hilarious and you could tell his pride was hurt a little when he was told to hand the driving duties over to a woman.
