Yeah I recently got an Eastwood box set too, the Fistful trilogy plus Hang Em High, the quality is amazing compared to the DVDs.

Now i've got the PS3 (and PSN is down), checking out my first Blu-Ray disc.
I've put 1080p rips on there and wasn't impressed with the quality... probably because they were rips. And i've no other devices that play BRs, so DVD is still king.

ANYWAY, Scott Pilgrim. First thing it did was ask if it could play on the internet, then it loaded "fresh previews" from the web. I can only express puzzlement which borders on alarm.

I am just coming to the end of TT3D, CLOSER TO THE EDGE AND MY GOD IT IS AWESOME VIEWING! Seriously, get hold of a copy and watch it, the sense of speed and vulnerability, is like nothing else. Madness, but intense racing all the same, with a view on how death is handled both by fellow racers and the families left behind. A real perspective on the approach to life serious bikers have.

My B'Day pressie. Shall be watching in a few months. Good to know :D

Really? Most the BR rips I've seen have been almost disc quality.

I would also like to express puzzlement which borders on alarm. Only it's at having witnessed the only human being on Earth that wouldn't instinctively say 'no' to a blu-ray asking if it can use its shitty internet features.

Must be the same thing I'm smoking. Awesome film!

Also having watched Predator 2 last night (severely underrated movie IMO) I'm now utterly convinced that Bill Paxton thought he was still playing Pvt. Hudson.

Is it the uncut version of P2? It's supposed to have had a ton of gore cut out before it could get a rating.

I never understood how Hudon died there. Blut bluting that punk from down that narrow path way. 2 clips. Nothing on this earth...could have lived.

Not at that range.

It may be pretentious, but boy is this is a pretty film. It shall form a pretty trilogy when I get Big Fish and Moulin Rouge.

HD fidelity, sitting closer to the screen, and focusing on it a bit more than usual mean there were several little things I hadn't noticed before.
