Death at a Funeral (2010)

Looks abysmal.

The original 2007 British version was a fantastic film. It had brilliant subtleties, especially in the dialogues (and semi-dialogues where one character would talk a lot and the other would be less engaged and thinking about something else; there were a lot of these, actually).

It wasn't laugh a minute - but it didn't need to be. This 2010 Hollywood remake looks like it's trying to be laugh a minute ("that's no my father in the've got Jackie Chan in there!") and it looks like it'll suffer. It looks to be unnecessarily slapstick / in your face.

Although they've got the same gay-dwarf-lover. Wonder how he'll play the role in this one.

I'll probably watch it out of morbid curiosity, but I can't see it playing out as well as the original.
