It's very good. Dark as shit, but very good.

What did I say about a couple of eps at a time...watched the first ep yesterday and binged the rest today, slow but addictive and only skipped the one out of sequence (Hang the DJ).

Metalhead wasn't the best episode this series but being the shortest and fastest, makes it the most rewatchable even if only one character is properly developed.

Yeah, we did them all over the course of two nights (it took me a while to realise what you meant before by "that was fast", but by then we'd watched the rest so I didn't say anything!)

I think the first episode, the VR one, and Black Museum are up there with the best they've done, and I enjoyed Hang the DJ as a small ray of light in what's otherwise a lot of darkness. Crocodile was really uncomfortable viewing, but then that was obviously what they were going for. Metalhead was probably the one I engaged with the least, but not bad by any means.

Only watched the VR one and I thought that was pretty lame and not really that Black Mirrory, especially the end. Felt more like an edgy holodeck episode from TNG.... very much like the Moriarty ones actually.

Peaky Blinders season 4 done.

Brody is fantastic, Hardy gives his best performance as Solomon in the entire thing if you ask me, and it neatly sets up 5 for a quite different angle.

Ready for season 5 now please.....

I blow hot and cold with Peaky. There's times when it's the polished professional drama and others when it can be a little "bbc" in it's ways.

I like the vast majority of it but the lengthy musical interludes often accompanied by long shots of a characters face or them walking about really annoy me. Seems like a fair proportion of each episodes time is eaten up with this carry on. Maybe it's just my perception though.

I think that's a fair point. I enjoy it - and I'm fine with things being stylised - but it stretches that to breaking point at times.

Luckily it's got tons of great actors in it so I don't really mind the overly-showy bits.

Is anyone else struggling with McMafia? Maybe there's a reason a lot of BBC dramas are six parts but they've done the whole novel with eight episodes and they're on ep3 already. I'll get to the end of part one and hope it speeds up a little in part 2 before giving up with it or bookmarking it in iPlayer.

Black Mirror.

It used to be an edgy dark social satire but it would appear it’s now a new series of The Outer Limits. I thought the dating one was decent until the final “twist” shat the bed. The Black Museum was probably the best one and the only one me and the missus didn’t groan at the end of. It’s definitely a shadow of some of the stuff in earlier seasons.

OK You have to push through episode one and then by halfway through ep2 it picks up as a Traffic-meets-The-Wire season 2 type vibe, it's a drama based on a bestselling non-fiction book although some anecdotes are dramatised into the show, so once characters develop through the second episode it's more interesting to get into. Will probably buy the book though as a companion eventually.
