Yeah, was about to ask. Watched season 1 and 2 (awesome telly incidentally!) on Netflix the past couple of months, but if I've understood correctly they haven't got the rights for season 3?

I don't know, I've just been watching it on Channel 4.

Hulu have the rights in the US, but as they don't operate over here the latest series could still be on Netflix. UK Netlfix still has the first two seasons available whilst they have been removed from the US service.

Wonder if we can watch it through 4OD in that case. :-k Will check later.

We've been watching The Handmaid's Tale through that as well, which is good. Pretty close to the book from what I can tell (haven't read it since uni...)

Yay, Fargo season 3 is on 4OD catchup service. Only 4 hours left to watch episode 1, Jez, if you've got access to that!

Every season is standalone, Jez, if that helps? Don't think there'd be a problem watching out of sequence.

Yeah they are aren't they...duh.

Missed the first episode anyway I'd think and I have loads of work to get on with just now in any case.

In fairness season 2 is kind of a prequel to the first one. Cracking show though, must be one of the few film to TV shows that's as good as the source material.

Late to the party as usual, just started watching American Gods. I really enjoyed the book, and think they have done a cracking job of translating that to the small screen. Weird as fuck, but then so is the book :)

Also just finished watching the final season of Black Sails. It was good, but I found the overall story arc frustrating for seasons 3 and 4. I still recommend it as the weaving of the Treasure Island characters (and hinted at characters) with historical figures from the pirate age, the effects, and the overall feel is still excellent.

Finally I have tried and failed to enjoy Iron Fist over on Netflix. I have enjoyed Daredevil/Jessica Jones/Luke Cage but this one not so much. My main issue is that the protagonist is forever talking about how he has been trained to be the ultimate fighting machine, totally in control of his mind, body and emotional state, yet he is forever having more mood-swings than your average teenager. He just comes across as a bit of a dick, plus the story is too much into the realms of ninjas and martial-arts sorcery that I found spoilt season 2 of Daredevil. Looking forward to their take on The Punisher, hope they keep it suitably dark.

American Gods is a cracking adaptation of the book, taking most of the important ideas and then going its own direction with the narrative. A straight retelling of the book wouldn't have worked half as well. Also Ian McShane is THE man, though the guy who plays Mad Sweeney comes in a close second.

Is all of American Gods available on Prime, or are there released as they're aired on TV?

And, if it's the latter, how much longer does it have to run?

Loved the book, want to watch the show, but prefer to blow through a series like that over a week or so rather than have to wait a week between episodes.

They're all available on Prime now, there were only 8 episodes in season 1 and they've all aired (they were going week by week, though). It covers maybe the first third of the book in very loose terms with future seasons in the works.

I read the book alongside the show. It's fair to say they're different beasts*, but both are great in their own way. I think Neil Gaiman was involved with the show so it has his stamp of approval too.

*Except for one scene which is done almost exactly as in the book and is so weeeeeeeeird!

Spoiler: show
Bilquis. Yep.
