Got my blu ray copy of Terminator today and watched it. The picture quality is excellent and the level of detail is amazingly clear in some places. My only gripe is the soundtrack with the new gunshot sounds, they seem out of place somehow.

The Terminator is such an amazing film. A definite favourite of mine.

On a general Arnie note, I really should watch Commando at sometime soon. The UK blu ray is the uncut version! Finally!

"That terminator is out there, it cant be bargained with, it cant be reasoned with, it doesn't feel pity or remorse or fear, and it absolutely will not stop...EVER!"

"That son of a bitch took my paaaants."

And now, musical sex with Brad Fiedel...

The extra 30 seconds in the shed scene change the entire film!

No, not really. But it's fun to watch Arnie kill a dozen people in a few seconds using farm tools. There's also a bit of backstory on Jenny's mother, adding additional layers of depth to the plot. And you really can't appreciate Bennett's chainmail in its full glory without 1080p.

I DON'T NEED NO GUN! I'LL KILL YOU NOW!

Ah man. The written word doesn't do the quote justice. Could spout lines from the film all day long

It's just such a "good" movie.

All this retro revival music of late. Nah, you can't beat something like this. Real 80s dark synth with none of the eye-rolling irony.

Sarah Connor isn't the innocent she was when Linda Hamilton first sported feathered hair and acid-washed jeans in the role. Nor is she Hamilton's steely zero body-fat warrior in 1991's T2. Rather, the mother of humanity's messiah was orphaned by a Terminator at age 9. Since then, she's been raised by (brace yourself) Schwarzenegger's Terminator—an older T-800 she calls "Pops"—who is programmed to guard rather than to kill. As a result, Sarah is a highly trained antisocial recluse who's great with a sniper rifle but not so skilled at the nuances of human emotion.

Everything about this just looks and sounds wrong :?

Is that a young Hugh Dennis on the right of the left side cover?

edit: also fucking what?

So this is just a shitty reboot? Fuck off.

Well, they sort of half cast Sarah Connor right going by the description there. Emilia Clarke is very good at doing zero human emotion, but I'm not really seeing how she's going to be a highly trained bad ass.

I'll watch this, but I'm expecting it to be worse than T3 and T4.

A well crafted trailer. Quite interested in that, had no idea that was en route at all.

Possibly against my better judgement (how many more rolls of the dice does Arnie realistically have left, artistically speaking, to secure something of a legacy aside from his action days prime?), but will keep an open mind all the same.

Maggie was pretty darn good. Its pretty original and more down to earth form of the zombie thing. I've seen some scathing reviews particularly bashing Arnie but I honestly think he does a good job definitely out acting any of his prior roles. Some of his line delivery is a little stilted but his job is mainly looking melancholic and stern. Its slow, but in a good way that it needs to be so dont expect Arnie busting undeadheads (though there is a little). Arnie described it as the most human zombie film you'll see and I dont think hes that wrong... I mean I fooking love the spiral into madness as Night Of The Living Dead depicts it so well but this is a more real feeling. Would it have been better with a more versatile actor? Probably but its still motherfucking Arnie bitch.

Really good film, worth a watch.
