Well I didn’t see this one coming, having won both Le Mans and the World Endurance Championship this year. I have always thought he was one of our unsung heroes in motor sport that never got the full recognition his talent deserved. Why some people think he was arrogant is beyond me, he never came across as that in any interview/commentary I have read/herd.

All successful racing drivers are arrogant. He was getting on a bit too by racing driver standards.

As far as single seaters goes yes, but not by endurance racer standards he wasn't.

Great driver and very successful, it will be a pity but hey ho that's how it goes.

I hope he does some racing commentary, he's pretty good at that too.

He does BBC F1 commentary on Friday and Saturday, has done this season anyway.

Yeah I've heard him on it before and quite enjoyed his insight :)
