Wont any games we put in now be of little interest in 10 months time?

I made a team and joined.

I haven't followed transfer news at all, so god knows if there's another cheap Michu this year I should be considering.

Yay, more peeps :D

@ katarn, nothing a crazy-cheap as he was, that I can see. Couple of cheapish strikers might be worth a punt, like van Wolfswinkel at Norwich, but they could just as easily flop.

Almost all my players were in the Premier League last season.

Yeah, I took a punt on Bony, but my other two are surer things hopefully.

I still went for RvP, despite his obscene cost. The rest of my squad seems a little under-powered now though.

Yeah, that was why I didn't go for RVP, tried to have a bit of oomph in each area of the team, and buying him kind of kills your ability to do that. He'll probably score loads of points, but I'm hoping more good players adds up to more points than one very good player and a bunch of high-risk, low-cost gambles.

I wouldn't use me as any kind of expert, though. Every year I use my wildcard in Week 2 to sack my entire team of wasters and buy 15 completely new players

Yeah I also played my wild card in disgust in week 2 last year. :)

But I had a pretty good run afterwards if I recall. Better to use it early than lose a ton of points over the following weeks...

Quick show of hands, if I set up another FF league this year, how many would take part?

I get the feeling interest last year was a bit low, so not sure if I will do something again.

Well, at least we'd be certain of a silver medal, minimum

I'll give it until a week or so before the start of the season, but it's not looking good at the moment :(

I think everyone is scared off by our world-beating past performances in the sport. :P

Don't be shy everyone, I'm really, really bad at it and yet even I can still find some joy in propping up the table. Come on it's fun!

Yeah, unfortunately the old place is rather sparsely populated these days.

I don't know yet, I might throw a team together a day or so before the season. But really, these leagues always work best when you get at least a dozen or so taking part.

I used to do F1 leagues up until a few years back, but the numbers were getting too few. :(

I'm setting one up for a football forum I post on, a pretty small one. We've gathered together around 6 interested people, and a mate of mine has also done it the last few years. I could always throw up the code for that league here, I agree it's always preferable to get as many teams together as possible.

I'm not sure it's sustainable just with three or four of us.

How does that sound?
