For those that may not know, the track limits extend to the white lines either side of the black stuff; the kerbs don't count.

If he'd had two wheels on the track, his diffusor would have been over the kerbing and I'm not sure what effect that would have had. We've seen plenty of pieces of floor come off on the kerbs this weekend so the cars can clearly make contact with them.

Just like every fucker the whole race and in qualifying.... Inconsistent decision making, gutted for him tbh.

But did any other drivers leave the track to overtake during the race?

He took a shorter route around the corner than was legally possible (in as conspicuous a manner as possible, to pass a car and take a podium spot). If that were considered legal, I'm not sure how they'd defend penalising for cutting chicanes and the like. Kimi had placed his car on the inside line, and there's no way Max would have made the move around the outside from where he started it. While I agree that the track limits need to be enforced more consistently, I see this as a different move to someone gaining an advantage after they've been shoved off the outside of the track as I believe happened between Bottas and Raikkonen earlier in the race.

Everyone was cutting that corner all weekend. There was a theory that they gave Verstappen got a penalty so they didn't have to have an 18 year old spraying/drinking alcohol in Texas, where you need to be 21.

FOM announces F1 will no longer use grid girls
It's about time. It's a cringeworthy practice that feels about fifty years out of date.

Yeah, continuing with it now would seem indefensible. Liberty for the most part seem to be making reasonable changes so far, which is encouraging. Apparently they're stuck with the 5 year exclusive Sky F1 coverage deal from 2019, but they're talking about making races streamable online (for countries without deals, of course, but a VPN should make short work of that) which I really hope is the case. If C4 can continue with highlights then fine, but from what I've read it looks like even that is not certain. I'm planning to cancel my Sky package and there is no way I'm paying out of principal and practicality for Sky's F1 monopoly.

From 2019 Sky gets exclusive rights to F1, they will be showing the British GP free-to-air and highlights of all races, but they haven't said which channel will be showing this. None of the traditional broadcasters will be showing F1.

I haven't missed a F1 season since the mid 80's. But I will be fucked if I am going to be forced to cough up cash to sky, in order to watch it.

I paid for the Sky coverage for a few years to avoid having to listen to James Allen and Eddie Jordan, and keep Brundle instead. The package is alright but way overpriced. I have got so bored of F1 over the last few years that last year I watched Australia and that was it, so canned the sub.

To be honest the easiest thing to do is wait till the race ends, then within 30 minutes there are HD torrents available all over the place - just snap one up and watch the race 2 hours behind live - no real issue.

Rather like the Renault livery this year. Just a shame about the halo:

The new Alfa Ro.... the new Sauber doesn't look too bad either. Could have done with a bit more red, but red and white is always a good combo.
