I'm excited for both seasons really, 2013 is going to be close simply because of the lack of change in regulations.

Lotus launch the E21 at 7:15 this evening on their YouTube channel. As soon as I get pics they'll be here.

Whose going to use the laminate on the nose?

I seem to recall one of the Marussia or Caterham drivers saying that their car wouldn't have the stepped nose this year, so that's one at least.

I think the E21 is launching on the Sky News channel too, for those televisually inclined.

I'm guessing you meant to link to something bigger than that.

The only thing I noticed from a technical perspective is that it seems to be using the coanda exhausts that McLaren were using last year. Unfortunately I can't remember whether Lotus had them in 2012 or not, so that may not be a revelation.

Its optional. You can install what is known as a vanity panel which will cover up the duck nose while still adhering to safety regulations. But to be honest if it has no advantage to aerodynamics I personally never saw teams going for it. And that seems to be the case here. Williams have apparently gone with a McLaren style nose, and no doubt McLaren will be doing something similar to last year. It was the best looker I'm sure you'll agree. The RB9 will be the one to watch for.

It takes some getting used I'll grant you.

In other news the F1 season has truly begun with Ferrari and Force India unveiling tomorrow and reports that Luiz Razia just signed with Marussia in place of Timo Glock.

Force India should name their drivers tomorrow by rights.

I don't think Hamilton was any bigger; Button was definitely taller anyway.
