In any case, only a handful of people signed up thus far, and matches start this Saturday, so get those teams entered people!

I can never remember if I made a team for the previous season as I always seem to lose interest after roughly a week. So here I make my annual resolution to pay more attention this year!

just so people know, I'm not just a mentalist; I like to make these things a challenge so I've imposed a rule on myself of not using any players from the top six sides. On paper I think I've done pretty well...

I didn't use any Chelsea, United or Spurs players - their players just seemed really expensive and wasn't entirely convinced by how often some of them would play after summer acquisitions - Nani, for instance.

I've pretty much changed half my team every day for the last week, but at the moment I don't have any player worth over £9.5m, with the rest being around the £5m-£6m mark.

In six years I've only had one decent FF season, though, so I've probably done entirely the wrong thing.

Oh, and £10m for Carroll?

I usually do pretty well. Expecting big things from Taraabt and Hoolahan - both goalscoring midfielders in teams that will be largely playing to their strengths. Expect both to pick up a decent amount of points. Also Bent, Odemwingie and Kenwyne Jones up front should get a solid amount of goals. Expecting mid-teens from all three. Shane Long is a great signing to play alongside Odemwingie. I think the latter will be for this Hodgson side what Zamora was for his Fulham.




Hoolahan will be this season's Charlie Adam, I think. Expect Norwich to go down, but him to move to Spurs or Villa or someone like that at the end of it all.
