What Bassoon said - ManU aren't the bottomless pit of cash that ManCity are, and Fergie obviously feels that £25m could be put to better use elsewhere. And I agree with him, mainly because I don't feel Tevez is £25m worth.

I thought I read somewhere they could probably pay a lot less than that when it came down to it - if they really wanted him.

They could have tried, but no doubt City would've come in anyway with a bigger bid, either forcing ManU to up their bid, or just forget him. Best not to mess around really. I can't imagine a business man like Joorabchian would, in this footballing climate, give ManU a first buy option when he could get much more money elsewhere.

First Kaka, now Ronaldo according to Perez. He has also talked about David Silva and Villa. It's funny how quiet Platini is being when it isn't a PL club splashing around silly amounts of cash.

Rumours of us signing Ajax stopper Thomas Vermaelen for around £10m and a bid for Yaya Toure of around £12m. Two good signings if true, but I can't see Barca selling Yaya as he has been a component of thier trebel winning team this year.

Once again Madrid council tax payers money going being put to a good use.

I wonder what excuse Madrid City Council will make up for giving Real hundreds of millions of euros this time around.

Ash has already been pointed out where is Platini and why is not not the death of football once again?

Premier League wont be the same without his whiney face popping up every week. But..£80m? Fucckkk.

Where do Real Madrid get that money from?! They're going to have a great team next season.

They'll have a great collection of players. Whether they'll be a great team or not, that remains to be seen.

I don't expect them to win the CL next year even with Kaka, Ronaldo and whoever.

Good riddance to ronaldo I say. I just hope Nani steps up his game a little this season. He's not a bad player, but living under ronaldos shadow couldn't have been good for him!

Replacements?I don't even think I could guess who fergie wants to bring in but I hope we keep tevez for a start. He clearly wanted to stay at Old Trafford and had become a bit of a fan favourite then fergie/man u turn round and effectively give him the finger.

It's not going to be easy to replace someone like Ronaldo...I'm sure £80m could buy two suitable people though. Hah.

I can't see why Man Utd wouldn't keep Tevez now as they can fund it with this transfer, and also have money left over for a few more top buys.

Not strictly true, and Perez has a personal fortune of billions.
