That penultimate point was impossible - I have no idea how he managed that!

That was brilliant from Murray. He just kept on top of Novak the whole match and never let him take control.

I really hope this takes all the pressure off Andy now and he can go about winning more grand slams - I think if he stays fit over the next 3 years he could win another 3 or 4 before his body starts to fail him.

Ha. I did think those were the most likely outcomes, and by the end of that set there was definitely the feeling that Djok was on the edge of getting right back in it... I just thought that if he got one set under his belt he'd go from strength to strength whereas Murray might wilt under the pressure a bit. Murray needed to keep it going and win asap if he was going to do it. It was based on science. Science!

Sorry no TV thread today all, but let's face it there was only one show to watch, and it delivered!! :D It's not like Djokovic made it easy either, but they were both melting in that heat by the end.

77 years and it's finally over with, doesn't matter if Andy never wins it again, we can read something else in the sports pages now, like "why can't England win the World Cup" or something like that :P

Phwoar, well done Dan Evans. Beasted past two of the best up and coming players so far in Nishikori and Tomic. Also well done Robbo.

So, first day of Wimbledon.

And... is it me, or does Ana Ivanovic need a new Twitter handle?
