Motherwell captain dies

Phil O'Donnell has died after collapsing on the pitch in the game today in their game against Dundee United. He was 35 years old.

There was a guy and Spain and one in the lower leagues this year, though he was resuscitated. 3 times in a year is quite a lot. Another one last year as well.

Take more notice of events and you wouldn't embarrass yourself like this.

There was a QPR player early in the year, and then another QPR player a few months ago, and only shortly before the second QPR player a Seville left back went down with heart problems and died, and there have been quite a few cases of players having heart-related problems forcing them out of the game, even if it hasn't killed them on the pitch.

Yes he was. The thing with these deaths though is that they are inevitable. When you look at fixture lists these days and consider how hard players have to train, if someone isn't naturally fit it can take a massive toll on them.
