Thats what I was like when I heard we had a lead when I woke up. Last thing I heard before going to bed they were on about 100/1 with Fleming raping Anderson and pretty much everyone else. Nice surprised to wake up to. I'm not sure I want Strauss to go and make a big score here. If he does it might be an indication that he's coming back into form, on the other hand it might just be a one off so the choice to keep him or not becomes difficult. I'd probably him unless he goes on to make a big century/double ton though.

Sad news about Tresco, knowing depression I knew he was very unlikely to play for us again, but it's sad nonetheless. He's one of my favourite batsman and is one of the better players we've had for a decade or more. If he'd have been able to keep playing I feel he'd have secured himself as a true English great.

Strauss gets his career best. I guess his run in the team might go on a little longer.

Yeah, he had a cracker. As did Bell - Bell was playing really well, actually. Nice to see a good performance. Didn't catch all the highlights, but from Collingwood's figures I'm guessing he was slogging out. I reckon that they'll wait till Strauss gets out before declaring. Given that there is still 2 days left I don't think they'll declare until he does get out. Well played England (for once).

We certainly did our best to lose it. Good thing Strauss and Bell put on those centuries.

It wouldn't be England if we didn't scrape over the line.

Christ, Sidebottom is becoming a legend with a ball. He completely confused the batsman by going round the wicket, something he never does. It seems like every series he plays in he learns a new skill that gives him heaps of wickets. Really impressed by the way he's grown so far.

Shame that after the mini break through we let them put on another 100+ runs.

Hoho! New Zealand are experiencing a slight collapse. It would be nice if England went on to provide a good batting display second time around, but I'm not holding out for much.

Yeah, he's had a good series so far. It is only New Zealand, but at least he's getting some good scores - two 60+ and one 100+ from his three innings. Vaughan is doing okay, he's got a ton as well. Would like to see Cook doing a bit better, and Bell is playing within himself.

Missed the Monty show, but caught the highlights of the batting. Was good, but there was some comical fielding by the Kiwis. We really should go on and win this series now. If we don't then that's pretty poor.
