Why would man utd turn down a 70m sponsorship to sign a 56m sponsorship?

To ease Glazer's loan interest rates perhaps? Plus having a betting company as your sponsor wouldn't be great for the company's image (although having said that they have no problem on the advertising boards).

Technically we didn't turn it down.

Mansion complained because we carried on looking for other deals while negotiating one with them. The club said it had every right to talk to whoever it wanted.

We were never actually owned by Magnier and McManus. Not in the same way we are now by Glazer.

Besides anyone can buy shares provided you have the money. But the fact Mansion were a casino would not have influenced anything.

The $70m offer doesn't have any timescale clarification - it could have been over 10 years.
