A statement, on Instagram, said Weiland had "passed away in his sleep while on a tour stop in Bloomington, Minnesota, with his band The Wildabouts".

Shame, not that hes done much lately Ive had much love for but those early STP records were almost worn out, especially Core.

Yep. Bound to happen. He's had a hard time with drugs all his life and got kicked out of every band because of it. That video of him singing earlier this year was pretty shameful. Looked like he wasn't all there, and sounded fucking awful.

Aww man, that is bad news, although not unexpected I guess. Fuck me, I was only listening to Purple everywhere this past couple of weeks, constantly thinking "fuck, yeah".
