Lindemann

A new side project from the Rammstein frontman.

Here's their lead single/video.

Goes without saying that it's NSFW >.<

Hmm not convinced. He knows how to go Chorus' though, I'll give him that. Maybe it's just because I'm inevitably comparing him to Rammstein.

Not sure on the point of doing a side project and then just doing a Rammstein song.

I'm thinking he should probably stick with the German lyrics.

Yeah got to say, while it just sounded like Rammstein, the whole lyric theme was pretty puerile. Also thankfully having been born pre-MTV, music video I ignore utterly and this is a good reason why.

As Sigur says though, he writes a damn catchy melodic chorus. I've got a pretty big soft spot for heavy riffs combined with poppy synth sounds so I'll probably give the whole album a listen.

See I am a lyrics man myself (yes, I know, death metal lyrics are generally the worst of the bunch) and I just couldn't get past those if I tried to listen, I would just constantly be thinking "Man what a load of bollocks!"

So this is out now. I've only heard a couple of tracks but it's basically all on par with the single. I mean, what the hell:

I like it.

I 'acquired' the full album the other day, it contains such gems as "Ladyboy" and "Golden Showers"...

I think maybe I am just too old :)

Haha. Didn't realise there was a thread. Picked the album up today.

Was listening to "Fat" and, while the music sounds great, damn that's nasty!

But yeah, it's very much Pain meets Rammstein.
I'm usually down on Till singing in English, but there's there's this moment on the tack Skills in Pills where he hits this Jean-luc de Meyer-esque flow. Suddenly the idea of English sang in an intense accent made sense.

You've never been curious enough to read the translated Rammstein lyrics then? :P

Heard the whole album a couple of times now and I'm warming to how completely ridiculous the lyrics are. The music itself is awesome, it's got a real classic industrial Rammstein vibe about it.

A few of them yeah, but all being sang in German I guess I forgot them again :)

Well, this got me listening to my Rammstein albums again. If we're talking about the weird stuff they did, have you guys heard Devin Townsend's remix of Rammlied? It's amazing in the dumbest way possible.
I'd post a youtube, but copyright people have came down hard on it.

Been listening to this album a lot today. The sound and production gives it this pop like addictiveness. It's that potent mix of Rammstein and Pain, with the strengths of both and the weakness of neither.
Didn't take long for me to get over the dumb lyrics and dive into the music... only to find that a few plays later, I was totally into the absurd lyrics.

There's the obvious ass-kickers, but nobody is talking about the legitimately funny Cowboy or the grim epic of Yukon. There's something about the track Home Sweet Home sounds like an amped up version of a particular 90s rock ballad, but I can't place it.

Yeah. This one is going to burn brightly. Will I care a week or so from now? Maybe not, but I'll have a blast wearing it out at least. :P

Same here. Been listening to the album. I don't think I'll go back like I do with Rammstein but it's not actually that bad and there's some damn catchy songs in there. His voice is pretty special, and not something you hear everyday (at least not for me)
