3 gigs booked but all a way off at the moment, Dead Kennedys again, Katatonia and Meshuggah - can't wait to see Meshuggah again and itching to hear their new album.

I was well into the Dead Kennedys when I was younger. Plastic Surgery Disasters is still one of the best albums to come out, from that era. Not sure I would want to see them live without Jello Biafra singing though.

Yeah my thoughts also. I had to balance it though - do I want to go and see some of the DKs playing all my favourite old tunes, or none of them. Plus I saw them last year, got utterly tittywankered and spent the whole night in one of the nicest pits ever - personally I can't wait for a repeat although I would love to see Jello play.

The new guy does a pretty good rendition too if my hazy memory serves.

Fuck me, Katatonia absolutely dominated the Empire in Shepherd's Bush last night, what a gig!

Amon Amarth on Friday with Testament in support - that will be a blast from the past!

I'm patiently awaiting Meshuggah's Glasgow show in January.

Not actually gig based but we were in The 78 on Friday (wee cafe off the main drag in Kelvingrove, Glasgow). My girlfriend goes to the toilet and some american bloke site down on her seat across from me. "D'ye mind in the laydee pets yer dawg?". "Sure?" I answer with mild confusion. Then a lass comes up, hugs Xerx, pets him, gives him one of his treats and..... it was LeAnn Rimes.

That was a strange and random thing.

Testament were decent even if they haven't moved on much from their original sound. Nevertheless, Gene Hoglan was drumming for them and it is always a privelege to watch that man at work!

Amon Amarth were fucking colossal. Clearly having a blast, and pummeling the Roundhouse into submission in so doing. Drum riser in ruined horned helmet? Check. Guys swordfighting onstage? Check. Dragon onstage towards the end of the set? Check. Johan Hegg drinking the world's largest drinking horn dry in one attempt? Check. Great night, band tight as a nervous virgin, and a great gig to round off the year.

Soil were pretty fucking sweet.
Support bands were also pretty damn good, especially Sons of Texas.

Terrorvision in two weeks next :D

Meshuggah tomorrow. If I stop posting, you will know that their bottom end caused me to shit myself to death

EDIT: Fuck me that was intense, and yet oddly hypnotic. The laser-show they had running just added to the strangely mesmerising nature of the aural violence hammering from the PA.

I'm seeing him in Nottingham the day after. Tempted to pick up tickets for that too. Was already bummed about missing the Ocean Machine show in Bulgaria, not sure I could handle missing out on another so close to home.

Aye, I'd love to see that. The few times I've seen him the Ocean machine songs are always well received by the crowd.
