Really? Possibly the last chance to see Tony Iommi play live, given his illness? I will suffer Ozzy's faux american accent for that.

I really dont like them. I can appreciate their effect on rock and metal but I cant listen to them, its such boring rubbish and Ozzy is a shite vocalist.

I'm really considering a ticket and phoning in sick if I cant get it off..... FNM alone would be worth it but SG too? Motorhead are great live too and I'd even really like to see Soulfly again (tiny little Max Cavalera), wish it was sep though.....

On other notes..... should I know any of those bands that arent on the main stage?

I've only heard of two of them, hardly a stellar support is it.

I love classic Sabbath but I don't think I could ever go see them now that they're in the twilight of their careers. Videos I've seen of the last few shows they did made them look more like a metal karaoke cover group.

See, it was Sabbath that set my feet on the path of metal so many moons ago (around 1983, fact fans), and they have never strayed since. My feet that is.

On that basis, I can't not go. Plus, Soundgarden, Soulfly and Motorhead (I detest FNM sadly, always did but hey everyone's gotta piss) make it a great for me.

Out of that lot only ever seen Sabbath and Motorhead live, both way back in the early/mid eighties.
Won't bother now, getting a bit long in the tooth (me and them both  ).

Grabbed tickets for this when they went on sale.

Looking forward to it, but I suspect we're gonna miss a bit towards the end to catch the train home :(

Well that was fucking brilliant.

Beautiful day, lots of beer consumed, met a load of mates there, and everyone played brilliantly.

Soulfly were decent but had a really short set.
Motorhead were Motorhead, although Lemmy is looking pretty old now and they weren't playing as fast as they usually do.
FNM - well I can take them or leave them tbh. They all came on dressed as vicars which was a bit odd, and the singer kept quoting lines of The Exorcist between songs (must have said the "Your mother sucks cocks in hell" one four or five times) - I didn't really get it or them.
Soundgarden smashed it out of the park, they played Superunknown in full, and were fucking stellar.
Then came Sabbath. I had heard so many horror stories about Ozzy, and heard his voice get worse over the years, that I think my expectations were low. However, he was note-perfect, as was Iommi, they played a fantastic set, discounting the unnecessary couple of tracks from 13, and I have to say I lost my fucking mind.

Fantastic day. Now very hung over.

Was never a FNM or Soundgarden fan but enjoyed Epic and Black hole Sun :D
Loved Soulfly (who I never got on with), Motorhead were wicked and Sabbath ruled.
Also, didn't miss the train home (although nearly slept past our stop :) )

It was a proper kick ass day.
