Got a bit sidetracked trying to remember how to play a particular section of DP so recorded Truth instead. Just went back to it and nailed it though so dead chuffed with that.

In other news, met up with my old housemate who's just moved back to Notts at the Devin gig and we've decided to have a bash at getting a band together!

Nice one, mate. How's the band formation coming along?

I've had a bit of a break from recording lately and the guys and myself have all been busy with real life shit. I had one of my guitarists over last night for a jam and that went well; we're all meeting up next week to start properly practising together again. Still no vocals.

I've spent my days off getting back into recording again, so I'll hopefully have this song ready for people to hear soon. It's a heavy one. 8)

Right, here it is.

I'm rather proud of this one (the song, not so much the production...)

Nice one man, sounds pretty beast.

Had a couple of jams with my mate and we didn't really click so I gave up on the idea. Starting to get more and more involved with recording my own stuff though so I've got about 10 demos all in various states of completion at the minute, but it's a bit difficult with only having Reason Limited. Just saving up the cash to get a few new bits of software and I'll be able to crack on with it all.

Cheers guys, I think it may be my favourite one so far. Definitely a blast to play through.

That's unfortunate, Mantis. It really is difficult to find people of similar interests, let alone people that you gel with musically. I've lucked out with the guys that I have so far but, as you know, I had to part ways with a vocalist already. Once you get some of your demos in a finished state it should be easier to find folk as they then have a point of reference. I'm still in need of a bassist (although one of the guitarists is thinking about doing it) and vocals. Vocals are what worry me; I'm very fussy with vocals and wouldn't want shite ones ruining all of my efforts.

To be honest I think I prefer going it alone for the kind of music I'm writing anyway. It was good to get together with him if anything just to realise that as much as I love listening to and playing heavy metal style songs, it's not actually the style of music I want to write.

That's fair enough. Even if I didn't have this band project in the works I would still be making the songs anyway, so I can understand why you'd be happy just going it alone.

I look forward to hearing something when it's ready.

=D>

My only criticism would be when the heavy part kicks in its a little harsh a cut but it only sticks out to me because the rest is so well put together. Maybe even one ride on the beat before it hits but then that reduces the impact. The first two mins or so are especially cracking.

Thanks, bud.

I toyed with the idea of having a little something happen before the heavy section starts, I just wasn't really sure what I wanted to do with it. Initially, I thought a nice drum fill to lead into it would be cool, but I think if that ends up in it that I'll leave it up to my drummer to mess around with ideas. I appreciate the feedback.

Haha I'll have a listen after I'm finished with Z2. I had a good laugh with your Doom musical, so I look forward to it!

Not sure how I didn't notice this post last month, but holy shit that is one hell of a pedal. It's basically post-rock in a box. You could write an entire album just playing simple riffs into it and messing with the settings. Do want.
