I'm just mad they didn't have a dragon in the video. :x

New page?

Been listening to this a whole lot more than I expected. It's the sort of stuff I can put on, zone out and give my day a futuristic edge. :P

It's getting into album of the year time again. You know I love myself some lists.

So, here's a little something for your consideration:

This album is going to be pretty damn high up on the old top 10. :O

Stumbled across these guys while looking for more synthy, "new-age" black metal.

That's pretty damn good!

:o

I don't really do the synthy stuff, too dyed-in-the-wool I reckon.

I agree with King Goat, phenomenal album and a great live act, albeit I only saw them in a support role. Would love to see them headline.

Praise AMG!

How do you feel about the term Euphoric Black Metal? It's got uplifting sythns and proggy post-rock vibes! Snowy will just love it!

Not listened deeply enough to pick out individual tracks for recommendation, but here, have some full albums. :P

Here's a bit of fun nobody asked for.

Decided to stride back 16 years and get the new Orgy EP. Loved those guys back in the day. Wanted to hear what they're all about now.

It's not bad! They've picked up just enough dumb electronic sounds to keep sounding cool. :P

So there, get some trashy (ageing) pretty-boy Industrial rock about you!

Hey, new track from Neurotech. Another one of his space-rock epics.

I'm digging it, for whatever that's worth. :P

Recently discovered Type O Negatives album Dead Again and I rather like it. What other albums are recommended by you guys?

Thought I might try my hand at getting my head around Fleshgod Apocalypse's latest after seeing it in a bunch of Album of the Year stuff.

The fact that their last albums sounded like wall of noise garbage didn't exactly endear them to me, even if I liked the concept. Thankfully this album is actually listenable. :D

What made it all click is the description of it being Luca Turilli-does-death metal. That pretty much is what's going on here. Neo-classical pretentious mixed with the Mediterranean epic death metal sound.
Hell, this albums kills two birds with one stone. A proper realisation of what Fleshgod should have sounded like and a better Septicflesh album then their last two middling attempts.

Still need some time to digest it. It's all a bit to "grand" at times, so the hooks are few and far between. Still, even if I'm not entirely on board yet, it seems pretty damn good.

Hop back a page or two and you will get our album of the year lists for last year - we would probably (hopefully) all stand by those as being worth a good listen.
