Yes, this story is excellent. It is by Arthur Machen -- the Welsh equivalent of H.P. Lovecraft! Although his writing is more difficult to get into (I've tried, but so far my only success has been with The Great God Pan), he's actually a much more interesting guy than Lovecraft, especially in regard to his religious views.
