Okay, my turn.

I've been really into this album lately, 'Gnosis' by a Greek band called Spectral Lore.

At this moment it is the one metal album I can listen to all the way through without getting tired of it about half way through.

It's more atmospheric and moody than other forms of metal I've listened to in the past, but that's how I'm rolling these days.

Oh yes indeed, a lot to like there.

Will be looking up more from Spectral Lore, cheers for the intro.

If you're interested in expanding your cultural knowledge, somewhat, the artist behind the front cover is John William Godward (1861-1922)

I only learned about him because of this album cover, but I absolutely adore his paintings (many of which are displayed on that Wikipedia page).

I've been listening to this album a lot of late:

'Advaitic Songs' by American Stoner Rock/Metal band, Om

It blends a lot of things, musically and lyrically, into a pretty awesome listening experience.

The other sub-metal genre I've been getting into a lot lately is something called "Dungeon Synth".

My favourite examples of which, so far, are:

Inheritor of the Forest Throne by Murgrind

March of the Triumphator by Barak Tor

Dark Age Echo by Order of the Dark Age

Not such a fan of those Mournblade.

And Subbeh, Fukpig tickles the embers of my old 2nd wave punk fire (Conflict, Crass, Subhumans etc) but I know that it wouldn't be something I would often go back to.

Mournblade, trying to be a bit on the quid pro quo side but not going for much in the way of atmosphere-driven music, I have a couple of offerings for you.

First, are you a fan of Agalloch?

If not, then a bit of one-man band atmospheric Scottish black/folk metal from Saor?

Finally, one I linked a few pages back and just love - may or may not tickle your metal-bone - Wormwood, my AOTY from last year:

Yeah I quite like Saor; listened to them a fair bit last year.

About eleven years ago I was quite into Agalloch. Of all the metal I was listening to back then, I think I liked them the best.
They certainly paved the way for me into this "atmospheric black metal" genre that I currently like, as well playing a part in my spiritual journey at the time, but I haven't listened to them for years.

I'm quite enjoying this Wormwood album you just posted. At least, I enjoyed the opening. Once the riffs started it became a bit too "same old", if you know what I mean.

I'm looking for stuff which "sounds a bit different" these days.

Back in 2016 I was promoting the work of Wardruna, whose "mystical Scandinavian" music has been used extensively throughout the Vikings TV show.

Well, I found another similar project this morning which I've been digging a lot:

Just found this today (I'm subscribed to the Atmospheric Black Metal YouTube channel). The artwork caught my eye:

'Winternight Poetry' by Moscow-based solo project, In Tenebriz

As well as the pretty painting, it also sounds great! More of a "doom" rather than "black" atmosphere, which I prefer anyway.

Turns out it's the latest in a string of albums going all the way back to 2008. This could be a fun auditory adventure.

No idea how well this will go down, but how about some gruesomely shrieking avant-garde metal?

Rainer Landfermann is one of those artists I sit up and pay attention to.
So for him to come back with bizarre shit like this? I'm all the way up for it!

I'm a big fan of video game music remixes.

Here's a good one I found this week, based on my most recently played game:

 Those elongated death screeches at the end really made it seem quite dark!
