So Dragonforce are performing at The Forum in Tunbridge Wells.

That should be fun.

I have said it before - I just can't do D&D metal. And Dragon Force are just too tiring to listen to even without the dragons and elves :)

Going to see Iron Maiden in Nottingham tomorrow and I've just won a spot on the first to the barrier competition on their website. So pumped for this.

Now that was one hell of a gig. Thanks to early entry I was front and centre on the barrier for the whole gig. Absolutely immense. Even after all these years they still completely slay as a live band, so much energy. Nothing really compares to the feeling you get when the intro to the first song plays and Dickinson is bellowing on top of the stage with all the smoke and lights going. The place just explodes when the beat kicks in and the rest of the band come running onto the stage.

Seriously, if you've never seen these guys before you really need to. You will be instantly converted.

Seen them oodles of times now, first time was on the Piece of Mind tour iirc. Cracking band, but Janick Gers is the tits on the Maiden bull, he serves absolutely no purpose.

Anyhoo, Katatonia again tonight at a tiny little flea-pit in Southampton. Looking forward to it, the setlist is a belter.

You're kidding right? He's written some of their best songs on the last few albums! I'm quite fond of his guitar style too, his really weird off the wall live improvisations can sound really amazing sometimes.

Sorry Dave, I am an old fart remember :)

I haven't really got any Maiden album since 7th Son, not a fan of anything from that point on so don't see much value in Mr Gers [-X

Saw them with Goldfinder in a small theatre venue a few years back, still one of the best gigs of my life despite having "seated" tickets

Next up for me is Grillstock (which I love). Headlined by the Darkness this year, should be a laugh.

Immediately following that will be Gogol Bordello.
Because they are fucking fantastic :D

So the Darkness are still entertaining and my brain has retained most of the songs they played.
The weekend however was completely dominated by Hayseed Dixie and their medley of Bohemian Rhapsody and Eternal Flame.

Roll on tomorrow :D
