I got immense amounts of value out of buying the "premium" BF1. I got a very enjoyable single player game and over 700 hours of beautiful, well balanced, excellently designed multiplayer.

Can't complain. Will support again.

They aren't doing the premium/standard thing anymore with the series. This is a great thing. And like in BF1 the only micro transactions will be cosmetic things.

Can't complain personally at all .... at least with this series.

Oh I'm not having a dig at anyone that buys these games, just my general thoughts of what I suspect others like me do when burned a bit too much.

It was more an answer to what good Sir Tank said.

Not surprised. but then literally any other period wouldn't have been a surprise either. I'm not a massive fan of them doing ww2 with just having done ww1 really well indeed. Could have done with a bit of a change.

But then I suppose it's down to the details of the setting and the gameplay as to how fresh it feels and how well it'll play. Part of me is niggling that this could be a bit of a rush job and a filler for the next big one in 2020.

I felt the same about BF1 before launch and was happy to be very wrong. Maybe this will be a corker of a game also.

Yeah, feel pretty much the same. I'm glad that I was wrong about it just being a straight sequel to BF4 but would have prepared something other than WW2 now. But if it's well made then I'll be very happy.

Just hope the bayonet charge and horses are now gone.

I only watched the trailer because people were so angry about it, I didn't realise it was set in WW2 until I read the description. Looks more like some weird post-apocalypse dieselpunk mash up

Most importantly, no dumb premium pass, all maps are free. Surely with no campaign CoD also has to follow that model too...

Likely won't be able to watch the video of this livestream out here but I'm mega glad that they have done away with the premium pass thing. It'll keep everyone together.

I remember my ears perking up when they said that about Battlefront 2 too, but look how that turned out. I hope people have learned from that shambles and wait to see what the finished product is like before buying. I won't trust anything published by EA until it's proven to not be the gaming equivalent of a protection racket.

From what I played of Battlefront 2 it was shitty but nowhere near as shitty as it was made out. It was also far and away a better game than the first and even at it’s worse I’d take it over the first. It took a while to unlock heroes but for how little you play as them it didn’t bother me.

Anyway, they’ve said that anything that affects gameplay is only unlockable through gameplay. I wonder how long till we loop back and just have everything unlocked at the start and ditch the CoD4 model all together? :-k

RPS did a lengthy piece on the reveal. I like the ideas here. Quite excited about playing it.

They made a point to stress many times in the reveal that you will be able to unlock everything through playing the game and people will not be able to buy unlocks. It sounded like they were going to go big on cosmetic items.

I am not a fan of the trailer, they tried to make it look like real game footage when it was clearly all just scripted, they had just pasted the UI on top.
