Only too pleased to. Actually I can continue writing about the Krûkh fight, as when I went back in after my post I decided to screenie the recently en-stumped orc for your pleasure

Image

I was interrupted in my screenie quest though, Ukbuk the Collector arrived to spoil my day. He wasn't much of an opponent though - after some shitkicking, he decided to leg it from my towering wrath.

Image

He jumped off the roof, but dropped down next to a cask of grog, which went up nicely blasting more of his health off before I headshot the cheeky fucker.

Image

Right, where was I. Oh yes, pics of Krûkh:

Image

Anyhow - I seem to recall I have an epic named Orc needing a stealthy slaying...

Image

Pretty isn't he?

Image

Not any more he isn't - that one went like a dream :)

I do enjoy the combat in this series it's quite meaty and tactile. Certainly looks pretty also.

So I suppose the basic boil down on this is that they haven't changed the formula much from the first. That's ok I guess but I am a little disappointed that they couldn't seem to cobble together a half decent story to bind all the decent stuff.

Well so far the story has been quite decent, which kinda flies in the face of the reviews - all feels very LOTR but then I care less than a tiny fuck about lore, canon and all that fanny.

Combat wise it feels very similar to the first, but there are a fuckton of different abilities to play with.

That's a bit reassuring then about the story. Maybe those review's were written by Tolkien geeks or something.

I mean in fairness I have played about 2 hours, barely started in real terms, but I have enjoyed the story so far. It is the least inportant element for me though.

Kinda annoyed at myself I didn't buy this earlier now as my son bought it for £24.99 from CD Keys some two weeks ago and they have now hiked the price up to £35.99! Guess it must be selling better than expected. I know Brandon is enjoying it every bit as much as Snowy is as he managed to sink a full 6.8 hours into it yesterday alone. I also wanted to add that I think reviews concentrated on the story element far too much because let's be honest here even the wonderful movies barely had much story behind them when broken down as it was all about the actual adventure they undertook and the stories left to tell once the journey was complete so the same should very much apply to the games too IMO.

Keep the excellent stories coming Snowy bud.

I can understand not needing a great story to enjoy a game, but come on mate to say the LOTRO films didn't have much of a story is a massive stretch.

LOTR did, but man did it make you work for it.

The Hobbit trilogy? Let's not go there ;)

The thing I love about the Hobbit is that despite being a seemingly quite short and simple tale aimed mainly at youngsters, there was enough dense material and secondary plotlines to enable it to easily be stretched out across at least three films, I would say.

Only reason I picked it up ahead of launch mate.

Will keep the stories flowing - had a good one tonight but need to go eat, maybe later ;)
