I think it's more the fact that so many games came out last Firday, rather than just it's proximity to CoD.

Runs as smooth as butter; just got to the trade center - perhaps I'm not playing on hard enough difficulty but if you stay in one place its easy to mow down all the bad guys then you have the rest of the level to wander around on your own; which is a bit quiet. And saps atmosphere. Where's respawning when you need (like?) it...
Determined to finish Far Cry 3...finished 28/2/14. Not quite sure where this genre goes now...

I think the guards keep respawning until you kill the commanders, or at least there are more waves of them than in TNO where there was only two waves of re-enforcements.
