All this chat got me looking to play it again. Was a bit miffed to find that the game is not available for download anywhere.

Went to GOG only to find the ropey sequel (which I already have on disk anyway)

It's an Eidos game, right? Can only assume Square is to blame for this oversight.

I've got an old GAME bargain bin disk version, no idea if it works on modern systems. It doesn't have any copy protection either, not even a CD check.

The toughest mission I recall being one where on starting you lost all your weapons bar a knife. You could get a replacement gun quite quickly but it was only an AK. You then had to make your way up a hill, which had (iirc) two tanks patrolling up and down - they spotted you and you were toast. The aim was to rescue some folks, and after the tortuous cat and mouse with the tanks you got a rocket launcher or something that you could use to blow them up. Once you rescued the folks, you then had a counterattack to deal with.

It was just the most satisfying silenced pistol game of its time. Possibly even still.

This one?

I don't know if the game was really that easy, or he is really good. More importantly, I was right. IGI stood for I'm Going In in the first game. ¬_¬

Got a copy off eBay.

I'm not going in any time soon due to the game shitting itself when ran in Windows 10.
