Damn. Although the lack of some hot midi action on there threw me off the scent.

I knew it was too much to ask. We cant have a new Everybody's Golf and System Shock in the same week.

I did read a week or so ago that somebody has bought the rights to all the system shock stuff, and is rebooting the first system shock. Re doing the who thing. Cant remember where I saw it.

Night Dive Studios
They've been rounding up the licences of lost PC games, then updating them to run on modern systems. They recently picked up the System Shock licence (hence why System Shock 1 and 2 have shown up for sale again). Seems they're going to make as much use of it as they respectfully can by remaking the first game while outsourcing development for System Shock 3.

It's all quite exciting, so long as expectations are set accordingly. There won't be 2K levels of money behind the game, so don't expect full on Cyberpunk Bioshock.

(These were the same guys who went to try and remaster NOLF, only to find that nobody knew who owned the rights. None of the big companies were willing to pay a clerk to go and check, so the game is as good as lost. Fannies. :()

They said they would need a partner and SS3 would be too much for them alone.

Huh, didn't notice that it's been handed off to the developers doing the Ultima Underworld spiritual sequel? Seems like a good fit. :P

A reboot of System Shock (by which I mean pretty much a clone of the original, albeit in a shiny new engine), would be more than welcome.
