I was wondering about this as it looks pretty good. How is the A.I.? I have heard its pretty poor. Is that true?

It won't win any awards, but it is perfectly serviceable. This was my GOTY this year by a country mile, with over 200 hours racked up purely in co-op. I am happy to join any and every PW-ite's games it is just pure fun. When a mission goes well, you feel like a special forces badass. When it goes tits up, you get the full action movie experience.

Must only be played on maximum difficulty, naturally.

So - Wildlands team have added in a mission where you have to go hunting for the Predator - yes, the one from the film - as a short term option should any wish to take it. The mission is available until the 14th Jan, after which it will vanish.

I would like to put myself forwards for the PW Ghost team to go and get slaughtered by an alien - anyone else interested, please say :)

How does this game hold up as a single player experience?

I have NO interest in multiplayer and/or co op.

Honestly Tank I don't know - I always play it co-op. I have done a little pissing around solo, and it is fun enough, but it was designed to be played cooperatively really.

There is a free weekend on Uplay atm, why not try it out?

So played the Predator co-op mission through with Peaver, my standard co-op buddy. Quite a short mission, but overall enjoyed it a lot. You meet a bloodstained girl who tells you the woods came alive and killed everyone - familiar? On investigating you are directed to several waypoints, hearing the roar of the predator nearby (as well as his clicking sound and the film music going da-tunkadatunkatunka) and shitting your pants. The waypoints include a skull-polishing rock, complete with hanging skulls still attached to spinal columns, as well as a group of skinned bodies hanging from trees. Eventually you fight the predator himself, and the game plays a little fast and loose here - he will attack, take a few hits and then vanish. Occasionally you will see him move about in stealth-suit mode but they basically despawn and respawn him rather than have him constantly on the move in one place.

Anyhow, we took him out and got some rewards for doing so - Dutch's cigar as a facial prop, a predator face-paint and a predator helmet (the face plate, not the full natty dreads ensemble).

Was fun, and a nice little surprise gift - let's face it freebies from Ubi don't happen often!

"We hope you are as excited as we are for the second year of content"

So the PVE players get one fucking mission and the option to customise AI grunt outfits, while they pour effort into the PVP? EDIT: I had a big sweary rant here, now redacted.

On the other hand...

Dave, Todd, some more co-op in the PVE world? I am never not up for that!

Would love to, Snowy :) I'm hoping when I get to Hawaii in three weeks that I'll have a cable line instead of this horrid wi-fi. I'll check in for sure!

I will be around this weekend DJ, add me on Uplay if you haven't already got me friended (OriginalSnowy) and will happily join you.

You need to enjoy the game in co-op to properly get the appeal. I have over 200 hours co-op play logged (2 and a bit playthroughs and counting) and probably less than 10 hours total SP.
