Would one have to have played through the Himan Revolution to get the most out of this?

Not really - you get the option of a 10 minute recap of the plot of DX:HR at the start of the game.

That said, HR can be got pretty cheap now and is still a very good game.

Aye that's still a decent game if you haven't played Tank. Cheap as chips too.

This is really good. Very much enjoying it. Contender for game of the year behind witcher 3 for me.

16 hours played according to steam and I'm just about to leave the Prague hub for the first time to actually do a story mission.

No idea what the plot of this game is yet, so far I've just got a premise and an awful lot of looted apartments / annoyed criminals. :D

Hang on Jez - Witcher 3 was released early 2015. I know you love it, I seem to recall you have mentioned it once or twice before, but a 2015 game can't be a 2016 GOTY can it? ;)

The DLC is just as good as the main game :) it's the game that just keeps giving.

Hammered some fair hours into this now not sure how many but it must be over 20. The missions are really good both main and side. The level design especially on the main missions is just great really. Think the only complaints I can level on this are the AI and the way you pretty much max out the Aug trees very early especially if you are specialising in say one area like stealth. There's pretty much no point in me taking any of the combat related stuff. That's something that the last game suffered from also but at least in this the game is generally better in every area so it doesn't matter so much.

Me. Don't think I've killed anyone yet. Not directly anyway for sure. I don't know if falling from height counts when the local physics glitched on me and a chap went for a long drop.

I'm stealthing a lot as I need to explore everywhere and loot everything, but I'm mixing lethal and non-lethal. Generally police and security guards get stunned, criminals and anyone else I like less gets silenced bullets to the face.

I just don't know myself.

On one hand the game is as engaging as HR ever was but am I the only one enjoying it and yet still left thinking it could have done with a few more months in the oven? It's certainly not up to the usual Nixxes standards and you only have to fire up the latest Tomb Raider to spot the horrible animation downgrade it forces you to endure.

Performance is all over the place for me too. Pretty sure there's a memory leak in there somewhere.

Played 20 hours so far and as much as I am loving it I'm considering holding off until the Dx12 update is released for the full experience.

Welcome back again Dave :)

Yeah I play this on very high and I'm rather pleased with how it looks aside from faces which really aren't very good. It's a minor niggle though and I'm sure dx12 spruce up will help with that. They've improved a lot more on other aspects of the last game in this that have been apparent here.

Square Enix has detailed the first DLC update for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. The story-based content is called "System Rift," and will feature the return of Frank Pritchard, Sarif Industries' head of the cyber-security. The character was last seen in Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

"In System Rift you will re-unite with Frank Pritchard, Adam's friend and former colleague at Sarif Industries, and assist him in hunting down information on the mysterious Santeau Group," the publisher explains in a press release.

"Desperate to get more information, Pritchard targets one of the most secure data banks ever created--the Palisade Blade. In agreeing to help, Adam may also be able to uncover hints as to who the illuminati really are."

System Rift will be available on September 23 through Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, and on PC. It will cost £9.59 on Xbox One and £9.49 on PS4 and PC. The DLC is included as part of the Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Season Pass, so those that own it will not need to pay extra.
