Assassin's Creed Syndicate - [PC, PS4, XBone] - October 23rd

Next year's Assassin's Creed game will take place in London during the 19th century, Kotaku has learned thanks to an early leak. Farewell, Napoleon; hello, Jack the Ripper?

This new entry in Ubisoft's annual open-world action series, slated for release in the fall of 2015, will take us through the dirty back alleys and rattling stagecoaches of London during the Victorian era, a historical period that fans have wanted to see in an Assassin's Creed game for quite some time now. This new Assassin's Creed game is called or code-named Victory—like Victorian!—and it will be out next year for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, according to a person familiar with the game.

Victory is something of a shift for the series in a few ways. For one, this is the first Assassin's Creed game helmed by Ubisoft's Quebec studio, as opposed to their primary Montreal office, which has led development on the biggest Assassin's Creed releases since the first game in 2007. Earlier this year, the Ubisoft Blog teased that Quebec would be heading up a future game in their annualized series, but they didn't say much more about it. This is that game.

The sheer amount of publicity this franchise gets is slowly making me outright resent it. It's just not newsworthy at all anymore, give it a rest Ubisoft.

Jesus, another AC game. I actively groaned irl when I saw the thread title.

That said, as a Londoner myself if it releases without the crippling bugs that have affected their recent titles I may eventually pick it up on the cheap just for that.
My face is tired.

I can just imagine someone at Ubisoft saying, "Quick start leaking details about VI so they forget about how much we messed up AC V".

Won't really notice the difference between 5 and this one - every fucker in the streets of Paris spoke with a cockney accent, they can use the same voice tracks!

The video makes the game look surprisingly rough, like they're trying consciously trying to not over-promise this time.

That said, I am pretty interested by the London setting. Glad I don't buy every AC game that comes along. That way I can jump in when one interests me without feeling massively burnt out.

Shall buy Unity when this releases, as is my way with AC games.
Makes it easier to swallow when everyone is talking about the next one :)

One thing they have done well with the last two games is music choice on the trailer, so there's that to look forward to at least ;)

It comes out in October and they're only showing pre-Alpha footage? Yeah, that doesn't seem like a good sign.

It seems like they are very much putting out a generic game here which is a shame as the setting could be very very good when I heard they were doing in this time period I perked up and thought it might be one I'd get. Really does seem very tagged on this one now though.

I have been sat here for a good 30 minutes as my cup of tea goes cold trying to think of something to say, but I really have nothing right now.
