That's a bit of a tempter :-k

Wait for a GOTY edition with all the DLC that EA love putting out.

Going by the recent trailer, you could probably tide yourself over in the meantime by watching an omnibus of Eastenders with some Vangelis on in the background.

Superb analogy for my thoughts also.

Well I'll still probably buy it, there is nothing else coming out soon that I'm interested in as far as I know. I'll have just finished a Witcher 3 playthrough too which should really hammer home the mediocrity ¬_¬

Not much at all in there about the quality of the missions. After 4 hours I'd have thought the writer would have gotten a sense of that.

Yeah. Some parts reassuring, others less so and some still shrouded in mystery (how engaging the story, characters and missions will be).

If I'm honest... I don't like the look of the combat, or the jet-pack. I found the increasingly visceral, throw-shit-at-you-from-all-directions bullet hell of the original trilogy less and less enjoyable as it went, and this looks to have taken that another step further, and if this is 90% about the combat and 10% everything else I'm not sure how keen I am to play it.

Still holding off the pre-order at this point.

Aye. Pre order not on the cards yet. That preview tells me one thing though the media are going to gush about this like they do with anything that comes out of Bioware. Hopefully this time round it'll be fully deserved.

I know I'll buy it on release having said that as there's little else barring Prey on my radar.

Sounds like we have our forum canary :)

As a side note, as a parent with children of a certain age, I find the name of the main character to be so off-putting I worry it will affect my enjoyment of the entire game. For reference:

We've had the theme tune blaring out at home so many times over the past year that I'm now mentally incapable of hearing the name Ryder without following it with "...and his team of pups, will come and save the day"

I'll be buying day 1 as well (actually more like day 3 or 4 as I'll be away the weekend it comes out). Between Jez's world-weary, honest cynicism and my whimsical, unshakeable Bioware fanboyism we should have all bases covered. :P

Ha! Surely DA2 was a low point in the Bioware love saga? DA3 was little better! :)

I'll be playing day one if I can find a way of putting the family to bed early.

It seems like they really are dumping off a lot of the RPG mechanics in favour of just outright action adventure shooting.

Perhaps this thread should be moved back to the FPS and Action folder.
