Hospital last stand definitely rings a bell. We had at least 6 people off the forum on at the time, possibly more. Mostly I remember flying around in a gunship whilst everyone else hijacked a bus and caused havoc.

I didn't finish it either, the second to last mission is impossible. You have to defend the bar while some mafia type sends wave after wave of his own men until you run out of ammo and get killed.

I finished it, but have no memory of that so I don't know how I did it. Repeated attempts probably.

Dave, on that mission the outside of the building is, weirdly, peppered with splodey gas cannisters. Drive into one and boom!

Thankfully taken with a bulletproof vest and some magic phone-conjured assault rifle goodnessblasting through the warehouse is a piece of piss, just be very careful what you drive over as you leave. Nobody will be chasing you at that point if memory serves, so take your time.

Anyone gave this a try yet?

I'd give it a stab myself, but I was hoping someone here had first before I download the 16GB of the vanilla game again.

Apart from the lack of tree pop-up, it doesn't really seem to look that much better than SA. I say this having just put 30 hours into replaying SA in the past two weeks.

I am currently playing it on my first play through. I like the missions so far - very GTA. I recall trying to play it just 2 years ago and the bugger would not run properly. I am currently in New York and in many ways it did get the feel and the setting of the city pretty close. As a game to dip in every so often it is a lot of fun. Needed modding mind as the car mods you can get now are very cool

I'm on my first play through too. I don't like it. Everything looks OK, but it's grey or brown. The story hasn't gripped me. The driving and shooting and walking mechanics/physics are wobbly.
Steam says 5 hours played, last played 28/12/2011.

Can anyone recommend the best mod to make this game look nicer without taxing my system to much?

I have seen all these tasty screenshots but when I have attempted to track down and use the mods, it starts to get a bit confusing.

A little help would be great.

You and me both Tank - I have tried modding it a couple times and ended up with a broken game. A masterclass would be grand :)

Yeah the ENB series is lovely but can be a pickle to get running. It needs a Mod manager like the nexus one for Skyrim.
IMO :P  :P  :P

I still struggle to see how the game was EVER praised for its looks. Even when it was released its scope was grand but up close its fairly rough.

That'll be the consoles mate, it did look the dogs when it first came out on the 360 and PS3.
