That's good to know Gibby, now I've got a new CMOS battery in my PC and it's working again there should be no problem sorting out some games and planning them around any other console stuff I might do.

Good game with Ken once again. This really is a fun game. We need more PWers to hop in!

And Easter's the perfect time to give it a try if you're around! 6-7pm or so is when Gibby and I are planning the next game, would be good to see other peeps there and no worries if you don't have a mic, just stick with the group in the Escape maps just like L4D and it's easy to learn the ropes.

Used the rest of Easter for one last proper play of this and as usual, misjudged the latest mode Flatline due to the low number of players.

Once I found a decent server and learned the mode properly to see that unlike L4D's survivor modes where you have one single area, Contagion Flatline opens up different areas in the same larger location leading to different armouries and potential escort missions to try to "win" a full round - you only properly "lose" and restart when everyone in the server dies - that's immediately different to the Survivor mode in L4D/2. Everyone comes back if that last man standing survives so games are usually long and action-packed once people abandon the barricades and take their chances running and gunning in the map.

What's helped the mode live up to its name from a player support point of view is...only two maps and since one is 100x better suited than the other, it will eventually in the end, get worn out and we will have to wait for Project Ageless to get released before we see further attention coming back to Contagion.
I also saw a Wolfie159 playing and didn't know if it was our Wolfy from the forums, but as usual, just like Escape mode, having a server is the best way to really enjoy this game properly in the end. Server support seems ongoing even if the devs are working on the other game so one day you never know, might look into that.

I'm surprised it's taken this long to get to the workshop section for the game but this Highschool of the Zed seems to be the "winner" map and it's had one update after the version I knew about. That's the next thing to try on the journey to 300 hours.

and Flatline when you don't have a full server, that's when the real challenge begins especially when I think you might need that key or keycard at points to get at least one of the armouries to re-open.

Gotta love Youtube, this group of mates already did a good video about the most popular Flatline map, cutting out a lot of the getting lost and running around and also helping me out with one clue re the fences and generator for later waves.

Re: Contagion (Successor to ZPS), £2.29 in bundle until 2/5

OK anyone that might have wanted to try the game, it's £2.29, in with a bundle of 9 other titles (well 6 other titles if you combine all three Giana Sisters Games). Since it's an external purchase and then Steam Redeem unknown whether that means you're stuck with all the other titles in your Steam list if you don't intend to play them. It does say keys plural though so hopefully they are separate.

10 days left which should be May Day then.

Talk about full circle - haven't touched Contagion due to work anyway for ages and dev updates are slow due to the low number of people on it compared to the next game.

Handily one of the old devs went back to ZPS and got approval to get on with a patch update for that including mappage, so once my PC is back in one piece for gaming I'll download that as well and get back into the original game that inspired Contagion.

I hate to say it after three and a half great years and 300+ hours' play but forget about buying Contagion now until you see a post saying Flatline mode is tested and working, that would be the sign that Project Ageless is either finished and the few Contagion devs were getting support to make sure that the community could carry on adding maps to a working finished product.

Just when you think the game is totally dead, it rises from the grave again but it's 100% thanks to one community modder doing overtime alongside his own mod. That update dropped just before the end of October and I only just looked up Steam to see the news yesterday.

So now on the next reinstall or whenever I get my new HDD might give it a reinstall and see how it plays, see the community pages for the changelog but the biggest fix is the nav meshes for maps. Hopefully that means less Z's stuck on fences and the like.
