Haha, I think like most young people these days they need the explanation of "not everything is free and given to you, you have to earn money by working hard so you can buy pretty pretty guns.."

This interview got me interested in csgo. Sounds like they're really thinking it through this time, it's not just a graphics overhaul.

I honesty don't understand counter strikes place in the modern world. People still play it im sure if but for those people (who know the levels off by heart and have refined their skills down to an almost psychic dance of twitch shots), why bother with this new version if it plays pretty much the exact same game? Am I being stupid on this one? Its designed from the ground up to be some sort of remake, but one that looks arguably no different and plays the same game. The player model constantly playing with the slide on his guns because thats how they behaved in the previous ones but it looks old and amateur to me. Why do I spend a tenner? I just dont see what the big fucking deal is.

I've played the beta and it feels exactly like 1.6 did. Didn't take long before I ran out of steam to play it.

Think of it more as CSS Done Right Edition.

It be one thing if it was announced under a new engine or it was trying to do something completely new like how Team Fortress 2 completely reinvented itself compared to the first one, but yeah I guess you couldn't just release an old game to the console guys, but for everyone else who ends up buying this, whats wrong with you?

I used to love css and i still play it occasionally. its a very simple effective game that plays competitively very well indeed because of that simplicity. something i think that games like bf3 etc can't do unless you have a very committed group doing it. whereas css is very easy for a group to play at a decent standard.

If they haven't complicated it too much and improved on the small things then this will be a massive seller.

Never underestimate the power of a reskin, although I can't see it reaching the 25million mark as with CSS, which got there with help from the boxed bundling with HL2. I will buy it but there's no reason to have it on day one, not now they will be running three different versions of the same game in tandem. In November there will be some kind of anniversary deal before the Xmas sale, will have another look at the price then.

I'm more likely to buy this than put money into DOTA 2 anyway.
