If you get technical issues with this Prey, you can't say you weren't warned... :P

Indeed. Although they have released a performance patch in the last 24 hours I believe? Hold up...what's the specs for this fucker? [-o< The need is now real...

edit:

The PC beta patch is a staggering 6.4 GB by the way for what is basically a mouse fix!!! The second performance patch is supposedly coming next week.

It can't come soon enough because the game runs like crap on my machine which has a 4.0 GHz i7-4770K, 16 GB of memory, a GTX 1080 and Windows 10 Pro v1607. 35-45 FPS on the Royal Conversatory mission at 2560x1440 with a handful of enemies and in an enclosed area is not good IMO

Oh. Guess the need will hold off for now then.

It's OK. Not astounding. I'd have given this 80 myself. I do enjoy it but it's doing little more than the first game and feels like extended dlc to me. This on top of the the messy launch which still isn't sorted really makes it an "ok" from me.

I'd agree with his points there and now they are written in black and white I'd have to be a little more generous on the score he's given but less than my own. I'd stick for a 6.

Surely that means the game is worse than the previous one. Even if it is just more of the same, more of a great game is surely still good?

No it surely doesnt.

I'd expect a certain degree of moving on a bit rather than feeling like an extended DLC. The story just isn't gripping me like the last did either. Plus the launch hassles and other annoyances. Like the fella says it is good to be back in the dishonored world but it's not ticking the brilliance that the first was.

I think in terms of level design they have certainly moved the game on and there are a whole set of different skills to use if you choose Emily. I agree that in places it does feel pretty similar and the story isn't great, but it's more than just DLC.

We differ in our perception then.

Skill inclusions aside the rest just feels like someone trotted out some dlc for the first game and decided story wasn't as important as everyone thinks it is. :)

To be fair the story is on a par with the original which was no great shakes, so I don't think they suddenly decided story didn't matter just for this game.

I'm not a huge fan of the game, but I do think in terms of level design it is a massive step up from Dishonored. There is nothing in Dishonored that comes close to the Clockwork Mansion.

He has convinced me, I have dearly wanted to go apeshit all the way through, but this made me realise that I just should. Fuck the good guy ending!

I bought the CE because I'm a man-child.

Loving it so far, though my system has been hit with the performance issues. Alt tabbing out and setting process priority to 'Realtime' seems to help quite a bit, though.
