Well I am Prestige II level 34 after all and play it a bit each evening and quite often but not always come top in a match. I dunno perhaps I just enjoy the game that much? Isn't that what you do when you enjoy something and want more of it? :P

Even with games I really enjoy I usually wait and see before picking up any DLC (if it's multiplayer based)

Just finished it.
Hell of a game. Hell of a game indeed! I'm looking forward to seeing what can try and top that as personal GOTY candidate.

I've yet to even touch MP or SnapMap stuff.

Also just saw Prey bought the multiplayer season pass. From being completely down on it to being the biggest supporter. This game! Fills even sceptics with enthusiasm!

Nobody is as surprised as I am believe me. I stopped playing the campaign completely at Kadingir Sanctum (Mission 6?) as I became a bit obsessed with the games multiplayer admittedly instead and I am now rank 34 [IV] which while not the highest is higher than most.

A month after the game's release, players of Doom's online aren't happy, pointing serious criticism at the multiplayer for lacking various standards, such as provision for custom settings, choosing or voting on maps, and private matches. Their argument is that these are the kinds of features that help a healthy social and competitive community to build up around a game. Inevitably, these issues are a particular bugbear for PC players, for whom flexibility is an expectation.

And alas when you do get a game more often than not the entire other team are all using mini guns which tear you to bits before you can blink from a distance and I'm running around using a single shot shotgun. I've most definitely come across a few cheaters so far too.

I haven't bothered with MP at all, does the chaingun still have to option to fold out into three chainguns?

Today we are releasing a multiplayer improvement update for DOOM. This includes rebalancing of some multiplayer weapons based on your feedback: the Chaingun, Rocket Launcher, and Combat Shotgun. This update will also reduce the wait time between matches to 60 seconds. Last but not least, Clan Arena and Freeze Tag will now require the winning team to complete 5 rounds in order to win the match. The multiplayer improvement update will begin today at 10:30 ET —this is a server-side update, and will not require a download, though it will require a server outage, which we anticipate will be about an hour. As always, we appreciate your feedback and we hope you’ll continue to let us know your thoughts.

For DOOM’s next game update, we will be releasing the patch notes later this month, which will include several improvements and features. We thought it was important to share some of those improvements with you now:

Added Photo Mode for taking in-game screenshots
Added Classic DOOM weapon placement/view model option (1st person view option)
Added new Snapmap features (including skybox windows) and AI pathing and logic fixes.
Fixed various bugs including players accidentally triggering Dev Mode and Trophy/Achievement bugs (IDKFA, Every Nook and Cranny).

These are just a few of the improvements and fixes coming later this month, but we wanted to provide an update as soon as we could. Thank you all for your continued support. We greatly appreciate you taking the time to provide your feedback. We hope you’re enjoying your time in-game and we can’t wait to share more with you soon.
