Completely disagree with that 55%.

I would say it's on the harsh side.

'Fing is, though, Brian, I got a bit bored playing it, and after a few hours' play I put it down and haven't really felt like playing it again since. Can't put my finger on exactly why (as I bloody loved the originals, and played them both multiple times), but the incessant, unskippable cut-scenes and cover-based nature of the gunplay are probably the major factors.

So, although I disagree with TF's score, I still wouldn't rate it any higher than 7/10 or thereabouts.

Tom Francis. The only guy whose opinion i'd ignore more than Rich Mccormick. Why do i buy PCG again..?

Haven't read the review but the only way I could see it getting scored that is if there were constant crashes or something. It might not be an artistic marvel that moves the medium on, but it's one finely crafted fucking game.

Yeah, he said he had to try three different computers and four different mice to get it working properly. In fairness I didn't really have any technical issues when I played it.

Really? I've always thought of him as pretty reliable.

I've never forgiven RM for that 94% he gave Dragon Age 2, though...

That's mad, though it wasn't really without it's bugs. Couldn't get it to run at all without forcing it into a windowed DX9 mode then put the settings to what I wanted. Considering the game kinda started with a cutscene straight away it was a bit of a pisser, not a huge thing but kinda ruined the flow a bit. There was a bit at the start of the river section where the camera locked in place and it was just a pair of legs running about the screen.

On top of that, while hunting for any hint of mods it seems that Rockstar have the code secured using something called Ironwrapper that makes it a Edwin to yank out the game's innards so we won't be seeing anything on the horizon anytime soon.

From what I have heard it seems to do away with what made Max Payne games fun eg the ability to dive around shooting people and looking cool. With you being much more squishy and the game moving more towards a cover shooter it seems that there is very little chance to do this kind of thing. Now if you try it you invariably end up dead which really puts me off getting it. That and I don't like the move to Brazil.

Sorry Nat but that just isn't the case at all.

I've probably spent more time laid out on my back/front putting holes into enemies whether they be near or far than I ever have while crouched behind cover. You also spend the majority of your time diving around trying your best to make yourself a continuously moving target getting to your feet and then diving in a different direction time and time again until the bad guys be all dead around you. And both options see you looking very cool while executed.

What you've heard is sadly utter rubbish. Much like the 55% score for the game from PCG.

Dj, if you can play a demo, I would. I've tried to play the slo-mo diving way others seem to be doing, and I just end up dead every time.

Oddly, I would score PCG at around the 55% mark, as opposed to the Game of the Month scores it used to warrant back in the day. Weak writing, pointless swearing, and a bad editorial policy coupled with a lousy presentation. Occasionally a decent read, but not on my shopping list any more.

55/100

MP3 is a good game, but fuck me those cutscenes should be SKIPPABLE GODMOTHERFUCKINGDAMNIT. I am the gamer, let ME decide what I will and will not watch, and fuck how long it took you to create!

I finally caved in and bought this in a bundle with City of God Blu Ray for £21.55 along with BF3 Premium for £28.76 thanks to a Zavvi 10% off deal, bargains!
