I'm curious what the tone of the game is going to be. That trailer certainly reminded me of Bad Company. Hell, I thought that's what they were going for with the prominent characters. Figured they were going to be the cast of the story mode or something.

Cautiously optimistic. I'm sure the game will be good, whatever tone it takes. I'm more just waiting to see how EA will try to squeeze money from people this time around.

Agreed on the tone. I got almost feeling of "alternate history ww2" from it. Dunno really why.

Because WW2 was nothing like what the trailer portrays?

Are any of the games we play anything like anything that's real? :)

True. But while previous WW2 games in the Battlefield series have been at least stylistically identifiable as WW2, this is not.

The videos for the last game turned WW1 into a Michael Bay trailer. It's not too surprising.

Honestly, I'll be a lot less interested in the game if the overall feel of the game turns out to be like CoD WW2. If they want to take it down a more "history adjacent" path, that'd be fun.

Well they seem to be introducing what sounds very similar to kill streaks from CoD. Fuck that shite.

I'm going stay optimistic about it and will certainly give it a go.

It's not the strongest trailer but then they are packing a lot into it. The various youtubers with inside info on what it's showing help a lot I found.

They're less like kill streaks and more like Commander mode from Battlefield 2, just per squad.

I'm really excited about the changes coming as, despite how the trailer made it look, it's actually slowing things down a lot. There's less ammo per soldier when you spawn, and you have to manually interact with medkits and ammo crates to resupply - No more magic auras. Also revives are no longer instant and require an animation, but all soldiers can revive, just medics do it much quicker.

All in all I'm really hyped for it. I think the style of the trailer was because they wanted to emphasise the soldier customisation aspect, and I'm kinda looking forward to having a bit more control over what I look like on the battlefield.
IMO :P  :P  :P

That makes it sound like a much better proposition. Looking forward to it as well, hopefully see some actual gameplay footage of it soon.

Trust it to be Nvidia and not EA who actually showcase the game exclusively for the very first time...

Looks a little "alpha" to me at moment...much more so than I'd expected. Wouldn't surprise me if this slips a bit right.

Going by the various youtubers many are using words like "gimmicky" to describe the new features especially the fortification stuff.

Dunno after the purity that BF1 was this could be a bit jarring. More to see I guess before release.
