Wasteland 3

Postby DjchunKfunK » Wed Sep 28, 2016 4:42 pm

InXile have announced Wasteland 3, coming to PC, Mac, Linux, and consoles all at the same time. Launches on Fig on the 5th of October with a funding target of $2.7m.

The game will be set in frozen Colorado and you will now be able to play story driven synchronistic or asynchronistic multiplayer with both players being able to control their own squad. You can do missions whilst your friend is offline, but any decisions you make could effect what they were trying to accomplish. It sounds a bit like Divinity OS: 2's system. The game will include expect vehicles, environmental dangers and a revamped, more fluid action system and you will be able to improve your Ranger Base. The dialog system is being written by the team working on Torment
Have some prototype images.

I tried getting into Wasteland 2, probably didn't give it enough of a chance only played around 20 minutes. Perhaps I should go back and give it another shot.

Thought 2 was pretty good myself. It's massive though never managed to finish it.

Played it through a couple of times, it's pretty good. Rate it better than Pillars, personally.

Screens above look very pretty. Will keep an eye on this one.

Got as far as the second mission in Wasteland 2, it was very combat heavy and the combat wasn't very good.

Pre, I think. I looked at the changes made in the Enhanced Edition but I couldn't see anything that would make it exciting. It was mostly "balance" fixes.

There were some interface improvements in the enhanced edition, but it kept crashing all the time so I didn't get far with it.

IneXile have posted an update about how the multiplayer works.

It sounds quite interesting and along the lines of what Divinity: OS 2 will have.
