I wonder if Sean Bean is going to be reading the technology quotes in this one, given that he narrates the trailer. It'll be strange to have someone else have to take over at around the middle ages, but those dawn of civilisation technologies will be all the more exciting!

Every time they announce a new Civ, I worry if I'll be able to get into it.

Here's hoping it's a next step, and not a weird misfire like Beyond Earth.

As usual, I'll be waiting until the Gold Edition comes out with the inevitable expansions.

Unstacking the cities seems like a good idea to me though.

Thats another one I have to buy, damit.

On beyond earth, I actually liked a lot of the stuff in there. Maybe I am just a little strange.

Nah, I'm with you on that one. Me and my mates still play the multiplayer every few months. The Rising Tide expansion really elevated the game and brought some cool new stuff to the table like the spoils of war system and the ocean-based gameplay.

On topic, I'm not a fan of what they've showed of the art style for this new Civ so far. Looks a bit basic - I was hoping for the next mainline Civ to be something mindblowing.

Hopefully they have implemented the radial research tree and not kept the old style tree, I thought that worked really well in C:BE. Also, the automatic upgrading of military units as well.

They have said that all the stuff from the previous game/expansions will make it into the new game so I expect the auto upgrade feature to be there.

Looks good, if a little simplified. I just hope the AI is better than in V.

Also disappointing that the tank model is the same for all countries (unless there's a unique unit for say Germany).

Greenmangaming have it for £40 as do Amazon. Not sure you are going to find it cheaper than that right now.
