Styx: Master of Shadows

Postby Sly Boots » Thu Sep 11, 2014 3:31 pm

No thread for this, and I'm not entirely surprised. Cyanide are a bit of a funny developer - often making flawed games with interesting premises. I actually like the GoT RPG they made a couple of years back. Of Orcs and Men was pretty interesting a lot of the way through, even if I never beat it because the final boss is hard as baws.

From that same franchise, they're releasing what looks like stealth-RPG based on one of the Oo&M characters, the little goblin Styx. That interests me, as he was actually by far the more fun character to play as in the first game.

Due out next month. Release price of £25 seems a bit steep for me unless the reviews are spectacular, but definitely one I will keep an eye on for a price drop.

This looks reasonable indeed. Review pending i think this could be a surprise release.

Looks interesting apart from hiding in the dark while glowing orange.

Well, in fairness, Sam Fisher did it first.

Came out yesterday. I've still not seen any reviews for it, but read a couple of user reviews on the Steam page. Is apparently a rock-hard pure stealth game. Sounds interesting. I don't really have any time for another new game having recently bought Wasteland 2 and SoM, but no doubt I'll pick it up at some point or another.

Well at least it tries something new. I might buy it in the sales.
