That's me completed it.

It won't go down in my memory as one of the greatest RPGs. The writing isn't emphasised enough for that. However, it's one of the finest small-scale tactical games I've played. At one point I ended up having to do a particular quest fourtimes due to a bug: once to find that there was a bug making a specific NPC who needs to die in the quest invincible, a second after reading about a (really odd) workaround, a third upon discovering that I'd misread it and still had the invincible guy, and a fourth after the same bug hit one of my party members and effectively froze the game. I didn't care because that quest was a massive fight. Having to do it repeatedly wasn't the annoyance it would have been in most games.

I don't rate it as a top-tier RPG. As a small-squad tactics game, though, it's easily up there among the greats.

Nice pleasant opening to the game. Already liking the AP system, even with just the opening fights.

I can already see the potential for experimenting.

New update to the game today. Just some bug fixes and stuff.

Plus UI scaling - which is useful. The fonts were a little on the small side.

I'm a few hours into it, been a bit busy the last few days so haven't had a chance to crack on with it much.

I haven't managed to get the Backstabbing to work.

What do you mean? You just need to be directly behind the enemy. The cursor should change to a dagger if you are in the right position.

It isn't explained terribly well, but basically every enemy has a vulnerable spot directly behind the way they are facing, quite a small one, that allows you to backstab them. As Dj says, the cursor will change when you're in the right position.

And B (I think) toggles to a more overhead view that I found very useful for positioning my rogue.

Remember that you need the Back-Stabber talent and also that not all 1-handed weapons can be used for backstabbing.

The positioning can definitely be a pain, I wish the circles on the ground had some kind of facing indication. I've regularly wasted AP by teleporting into the wrong position and having to step an inch to the side.

The upside is that, with backstabbing, daggers do far more damage per turn than any other weapon.

Yup. Guaranteed crits plus only 2APs to use. Definitely worth doing.

Yeah, one of my main characters is a rogue (the other a wizard). Already used the backstabbing a few times - at first I assumed you had to be in sneak mode but you don't.

Picked up that warrior bird at the tavern. So I've got a fighty meat shield now aswell.

Well this is embarrassing. I forgot to give my assassin the Back-Stabber talent #-o

She's much better now.
